CED TAMEED Project targets men creating wealth

The Center for Enterprise Development (CED), held its inaugural Men’s Empowerment Business Symposium on Thursday, June 19, 2025, that aims to assist men primarily to build viable enterprises to generate wealth. Held at the Kingstown Baptist Church, the project, titled ‘Technical Assistance for Men’s Employment and Entrepreneurship Development (TAMEED), is a six-month project funded by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Under this project, the CED aims to ensure that Vincentian men, and a few women, are exposed as much as possible to opportunities to better position themselves to operate more viable enterprises, and build on innovative business ideas to generate wealth.

“We are hoping that this would not be the last of this event, that we would have many more events such as this geared towards our entrepreneurs, CED General Manager, Ronette Lewis said at the opening ceremony.

“ This stands as a testament to our collective commitment to fostering growth, resilience, and leadership among our entrepreneurs.”

She added, “…this initiative is really aimed at equipping our men” and, “in this case a few selective females in the programme with the skills, the resources necessary for sustainable growth and development in their enterprises”.

The project is divided into three components-personal and professional development through workshops, mentorship, and a provision of a grant.

“We have mentors within our business community who are matched with our mentees, who are currently working with our mentees, helping them to develop their businesses,” Lewis explained.
