Scared contestant lands Miss BCK Heritage Pageant Crown

D’Arjé King, who was crowned the queen of Miss Bishop’s College Kingstown (BCK) Heritage 2025, is aspiring to compete in Miss SVG Teen 2026.
Pageantry has always been a dream for King growing up. Though she was confident prior to the competition, King told SEARCHLIGHT that winning was not her main goal, she just wanted the experience of competing.
“Whether I got the crown or not, I was going to use this as a step to go forward because I would actually like to take part in Miss SVG Teen, so I’m just using this as a step to push myself to do better and achieve goals I’ve always wanted to achieve.”
King told SEARCHLIGHT that she became scared and started overthinking at the start of the pageant because everyone was staring at her, then cried backstage after the interview segment, convinced that she would not win.
The fifteen- year- old continued that when she saw contestant, Malena George was the first runner up, she glanced at her mother and other supporters and read their lips saying, “Yes, she get it,” and at that moment King realised that she was going to be crowned Queen.
“I feel great. It was actually an exciting moment because despite all the challenges faced, I still went out and did nothing but my best and I got what I deserved,” King said, adding that she wasn’t really thinking about the certificates she was receiving in the various categories, only whether she was going to win or not.
King said she had “awesome” support, and that made her feel more confident at the show.
