Canadian Spiritual Baptist leader ‘Blown Away’ by Thanksgiving Celebrations
Elect Apostolic Bishop, Lennon Diaz, of the Spiritual Baptist Faith Incorporated worldwide was wowed by celebrations to mark the inaugural National Spiritual Baptists Day on May, 21, 2025, and corollary activities.
“I am telling you, I am blown away. I am totally in awe of the beauty of seeing how we as Spiritual Baptists here in the land of St Vincent and the Grenadines can worship freely and be proud of it,” said Bishop Diaz who resides in Canada.
He spoke to SEARCHLIGHT on the fringes of the Spiritual Baptist gathering at the Kingstown Central Market on Friday, May, 25, 2025, organised as part of the extended celebration activities. He was among scores of Spiritual Baptists from the Region and further afield, who journeyed to St Vincent and the Grenadines to participate in the celebrations of ‘freedom’.
“You’re talking about one of the busiest times for the market, and they have allowed the Spiritual Baptists to have the Open Air Service …where our forefathers weren’t able to worship freely,” he remarked.
“We are thankful to Almighty God that we can worship freely today, that we can be proud all over the world. I want us to know that Spiritual Baptists are not just in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
“We are in Canada. We are all over America. We are in almost every island of the Caribbean, including Cuba. We are in Guyana. We are in Panama. We are in England. We are in Africa. We are in India. We are a movement that is happening, and I want us as our spiritual people to bind our hearts together, be strong with one another, have love, have peace … have unity,” the Spiritual Baptist Bishop stated.
