PM Gonsalves pose challenges NDP

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves has challenged the main opposition political party in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to tell the Vincentian public who are the members of the New Democratic Party allegedly engaged in the sale of passports through a foreign entity.

Speaking at a Cabinet press conference on Monday, May 12, 2025 Dr Gonsalves stated: “I want the NDP to tell the public what is the name of one or more persons in the top leadership of the NDP… one who is currently the chief commercial officer of a company, which is engaged in the selling of passports and citizenship… from another jurisdiction.”

Reading from a document in hand, but seemingly very careful as to the information he wanted to reveal, Dr. Gonsalves said he wanted the NDP “to tell you what is the mission of that particular company, and I think they can tell you too, how long he has been employed as the chief commercial officer and before that, what was his role … is he still working with a Chinese national based in France, who is this company’s chief marketing officer, and does he also work with a particular Nigerian lady.”

Dr Gonsalves said the NDP also “should tell us who is the Nigerian representative and business developer of this particular company. You see, if you’re coming, tell us what you’re doing already, don’t hide, and whether this particular person is like peas in a pod with another one.”
