District Stairs spruces up Police Public Relations and Complaints Office
DISTRICT STAIRS SVG Ltd., a company with operations in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Canada, has demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by refurbishing the Public Relations and Complaints Office of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF).
The company, owned by Vincentian Marlon Bute, supplied and installed new waterproof vinyl hardwood floor tiles and repainted the interior walls of the three compartments across the office, transforming the space into a more welcoming and professional environment, states a release from the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF).
Head of the Public Relations and Complaints Office, Superintendent Junior Simmons, expressed his gratitude to the company, saying, “These repairs have significantly enhanced the ambience and working conditions in the office not only for our staff but also for the members of the public who visit to engage with us on matters of mutual interest”.
He added that the initiative felt like divine intervention.
“For a while, I had been considering reaching out to a business entity that might be willing to partner with us. One day, I felt led to contact Marlon Bute at District Stairs SVG Ltd. I got in touch with him in February of this year, presented the proposal, and he immediately agreed to undertake the repairs at no cost. Therefore, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, the RSVGPF, and my staff, I extend profound thanks for this generous contribution. The transformation has truly elevated our workspace.”
Speaking about the motivation behind the contribution, Managing Director of District Stairs Marlon Bute said, “I’m always happy to support the police in any way I can, especially when it comes to improving their working environment. Once I received the request, I didn’t hesitate to step in. The tiles were badly cracked, and the grout lines were unsightly, so we upgraded the flooring. I also noticed the walls needed attention and decided to give the space a fresh coat of paint. This initiative is especially meaningful to me because my late brother, Elmond, served as a police officer. Many of his colleagues became his close friends, and some of them remain my friends to this day. It’s a small way of giving back and showing appreciation for their service.”
In June, the company will implement phase three of the project which includes repairs to the office ceiling. The RSVGPF has extended its best wishes to the company for continued success in serving its customers and achieving its goals.
