Ex-SVG Coast Guard association formed

Former members of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Coastguard Service have formed an association after extensive consultations and deliberations. The three goals of the association are to assist the SVG Service wherever possible; offer aid to its members when needed; and participate in activities that improve the social life of its members, a release from the association states.

The association held a meeting on June 13 and elected Norris Stewart as president to head the executive for the next two years. Other executive members are: vice president, Jerome Dick; secretary, Brenton Cain; treasurer, Aaron Francois; and PRO, Kenneth Skerritt. The committee members are Ralph Liverpool and Tyrone John.

The association plans to collaborate with the SVG Coast Guard Service, providing services as needed, and supporting the development of that organization. Membership in the Association is open to retired Coast Guard officers.
