Labourer shot to death at Villa
A man who was discovered dead at Villa in the vicinity of the gap leading to the community college has been described as a loner and a very quiet person.
On Saturday January 23, the body of Corey Greaves, a 27-year-old labourer of Arnos Vale was found lying in the road at Villa.
Police say that at about 8:18 pm, when officers from the Calliaqua Police Station responded to reports that a body had been discovered, they found Greaves with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his head.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by the District Medical Officer (DMO) and a post-mortem will be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Greaves’s death marked the second homicide for 2021 and investigators say the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident are unknown.
A man from Greaves’s Arnos Vale neighbourhood said the deceased would usually frequent a car wash in the area and he was not much of a talker.
He said he has no idea why someone would want to kill Greaves.
Anyone with information pertaining to Greaves’s death is asked to contact the police.
