Three girls in winners’ row in Green Hill SCC Spelling Bee

Sahara Antrobus, Linisha Jacobs and Odesha Sterling were all in winners row after participating in the finals of the Green Hill Sports and Cultural Club Inc. (GHSCC) 2019 Spelling B competition.

Seven-year-old Sahara of Sharps Dale, a student of the St Mary’s R C School, defeated Andrew Nichols and Stephen Sterling into second and third place, in the 6-9 category to capture the GHSCC Inc. challenge trophy.

Eleven-year-old Odeasha Sterling of Green Hill, a student of the Lodge Village Government School, defeated Zaria Cummings and Jalicia Straker into second and third place in the 10-13 category, to capture the Yvonne Simmons Soleyn challenge trophy.

Sixteen-year-old Linisha Jacobs of Green Hill, a student of the Girls’ High School, defeated Suenee’ Burke and Fedel Akers into second and third place in the 14-16 category, to capture the Kingsley and Sylvia Chapman challenge trophy.

The annual spelling B competition, which took place at the Green Hill Evangelical Church on April 29, is part of the clubs’ 38th anniversary celebration.
