Male patient diagnosed with Bacterial Meningitis at Milton Cato Memorial Hospital
A male patient who was recently admitted to the Paediatric Ward of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital has been diagnosed with a rare form of bacterial meningitis.
An advisory of the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment said in response to this diagnosis, the Ministry has commenced public health actions geared at preventing the spread of the condition.
“The relevant stakeholders have been contacted and advised on requirements and protocols. The patient is being treated, recovering well and has a prognosis which remains good,” the advisory said.
