Church to host march and rally against crime on Sunday
THE DELIVERANCE Baptist Church at Lauders will host a March and Rally on Sunday, January 13 “to take a stand against the enemy.”
In a release, the Church said “Police officers are bombarded with stacks of files implicating our people in some sort of crime. Courts are filled with cases against people who are able bodied citizens of our land.
We have heard the cries of many victims, we’ve seen the youths being put behind bars and all the other devastating effects of crime. Our jails are crammed with people who should be outside contributing to the development of our blessed St Vincent. We cannot leave all the pressure on the police officers; it’s time for us as a Church and nation to take a stand.
“The reasons for the involvement in crime spans a long list, but, we have to stop blaming all kinds of ills and concentrate on ways in which we can keep the courts empty and people on the straight and narrow road where morals are upheld and right is accepted as right – and wrong discarded as wrong. And so we much march and rally the troops (the body of Christ) to take a stand: A stand to save our youth; a stand to save our nation,” the release said.
The march will start at 1 pm, beginning at the Lowmans gap in North Union and culminate at the Lauders Agro-processing lab. The entire Church Community, the schools and the general public of SVG are invited to join the church on this march.
“To this effect it will not be Deliverance Baptist Church March, it will be a March of the people of God, taking a stand against the enemy,” the release said.
