$2,000 up for grabs in 2018 Nine Mornings Road Tennis competition
The 2018 Capita Financial Nine Mornings Road Tennis Blast will serve off its 3rd edition from this Monday, December 17. It starts with a workshop for competitors in Bequia at the Clive Tannis Hard Court, from 10 a.m., followed by the preliminary round from 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, the North Leeward leg will take place with the workshop at 11 a.m. in Petit Bordel, and the preliminary at the Layou Hard Court from 7 p.m.
The Kingstown zone preliminary will be held on Wednesday at the Kingstown Netball Centre at New Montrose from 7 p.m.
The final preliminary will be held in South Rivers on Thursday, from 7 p.m., with a workshop in Sandy Bay at 11 a.m.
The quarter-final will take place on Saturday from 7 at New Montrose, with the semi-final and final on Sunday, also at 7 p.m.
The prizes for the tournament are as follows:
Open Male 1st Place – EC$2,000.
Losing Finalist – EC$1,000.
Losing Semi-Finalists – EC$250 each
Open Female 1st Place – EC$1,200
Losing Finalist – EC$600.
Losing Semi Finalists – EC$100.
Juniors Under-16 Boys and Girls
1st Place – EC$500.
Losing Finalist – EC$200.
Losing Semi Finalists – EC$100.
Registration forms can be collected from the Office of the Division of Physical Education and Sport upstairs the Methodist Church Building, opposite Kingstown Seventh Day Adventist Church. The deadline for submission of forms is 4 p.m. on the day before each competition.
