NEMO hosting CDM Audit Verification Workshop today

A Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) Audit Verification Workshop will be held by the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) today.

This workshop is organized in collaboration with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) and the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR).

The objective of the CDM Audit Verification Workshop is to present the Draft CDM Audit Report for review, and to validate the results obtained from interviews with stakeholders.

The Comprehensive Disaster Management Audit was conducted in July 2018 with National Stakeholders to review the National Disaster Management Programme (mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery).

The Audit assessed St Vincent and the Grenadines progress in implementing the Comprehensive Disaster Management Strategy and the UNISDR Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.

The CDM Audit Verification Workshop will be facilitated by consultant River Providence.

The results of the workshop will be used strategically to develop National Disaster Risk Management Programmes.

The CDM Audit was developed by CDEMA and includes a series of questions relating to the different public, private and non-governmental organizations program in the different phases of disaster management.

The CDM Audit was conducted by face to face interviews with the consultant.

The Workshop will take place at NEMO’s Conference room beginning at 8:30 a.m.
