CDC promises exciting and entertaining Miss SVG 2018
“This year’s Miss St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) pageant is going to be an exciting one.”
That is the view of Coordinator of the Beauty Shows Committee (BSC) of the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) Laferne Fraser.
Speaking to SEARCHLIGHT about the show which will be held this Saturday June 2, Fraser said that the contestants are doing well and are ready for show night.
Taking part in this year’s pageant are Miss FLOW Solange Fernandez, Miss Vincentian Chocolate Cameisha Foster, Miss Metrocint General Insurance Co Ltd Nazira Graham, Miss GECCU Azanie Lavia, Miss Mustique Company Ltd Criscione Morgan, Miss Lotto Shellisa Nanton and Miss Massy Stores SVG Ltd Morrissia Williams.
“The seven contestants are going to wow you because any one of them can be crowned Miss SVG on the night of the show, except God forbid something goes wrong,” said Fraser during a recent interview.
“This is going to be a keenly contested pageant. We have a tight production so its high intensity from the time you step into Victoria Park, to the time Miss SVG is crowned,” Fraser promises.
Fraser said that besides the contestants entertaining persons, patrons will have entertainment from the boy band “Resonance”, reigning Ragga Soca king Hance John and a surprise act.
“Resonance has been lighting things up, it is the hottest band on the music circuit. Hance John always lights up any stage he is on. We will also have a surprise act, but we don’t want to stretch out the show with too many performances, so we only have a few in between the segments, and I think the public is going to have a great experience at Victoria Park this year because of the slight changes we made and a few surprise things we have in store,” said Fraser.
In relation to the talents that will be performed by the contestants, Fraser said there is a nice spread.
“We had a talent preview, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was really exciting, I was moved to tears, I was happy and there was one that went over, and I did not realize that it had gone over because it was so good. We are happy with the talents,” stressed Fraser.
In relation to the VIP section of the show, Fraser said that patrons in the VIP are going to have a royal experience.
“It was introduced last year, and we had zero complaints. Persons thoroughly enjoyed it, but this year we are improving it because that is what we do, improve,” said Fraser who noted that VIP patrons will be treated to VIP parking, hors’ d’oeuvres, premium drinks and, “the best view and best comfort.”
The show will be held at Carnival City, Victoria Park, beginning from 8 pm. The contestants will be competing for a chance to wear the Miss SVG crown for one year, and a university scholarship, compliments the government and people of SVG.
The delegates are also doing their best to empower females through the Shenton Coffee Farms Empowerment Campaign, and each contestant has a focus.
