St Vincent Brewery Limited enters J’Ouvert mix for 2018

A new face will be added to the Vincy Mas J’Ouvert mix this year.

This, as the St Vincent Brewery Limited announced last week that they will, for the first time, put a J’Ouvert band on the road for Vincy Mas 2018.

Speaking at the conference room of the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) at Victoria Park on March 6, Sales and Marketing manager at the St Vincent Brewery Limited Lamont Medica said they have decided this year to help inject some life into J’Ouvert.

He said that the partnership between the CDC and the Brewery is mutually beneficial and the Brewery has noticed a fall off in the attendance at J’Ouvert, “so we saw this and saw it as an opportunity that we could inject into Carnival and help to revive that particular element.”

Chief executive officer (CEO) of the CDC Ashford Wood expressed his pleasure at the Brewery’s decision to join this cultural event.

“The St Vincent Brewery has been a partner with us for very long. We thank the Brewery for coming on board this year in the capacity of a band on the road for J’Ouvert, because we would have seen the fall off for J’Ouvert and as a matter of fact, the CDC has started to think about looking for partners to hit the road for J’Ouvert; so, when you decided to come on board, we know that J’Ouvert is being taken care of once again,” said Wood.

The St Vincent Brewery Limited also signed a one-year sponsorship contract with the CDC in relation to the sponsorship of Vincy Mas 2018.
