Invest SVG holds second 2018 business series workshop

Invest SVG recently hosted the second in its 2018 series of business development workshops – specifically focused on business plan preparation.

On Tuesday, March 6, 28 participants – who were a mixture of business owners and those wanting to start a business – were guided through the process of completing a thorough business plan by Felix Lewis, general manager at the Centre For Enterprise Development (CED).

Lewis led the workshop ‘Preparing A Business Plan’ through information sessions and workshop discussions, highlighting a sound and detailed business plan as imperative for successful applications to financial/lending institutions.

This workshop series is scheduled to run until July, and will include topics such as export readiness, costing and pricing, insurance and copyrighting/trademarking – among others.

Next in this series will be two half-day workshops on Tuesday, March 20 – Understanding Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and Initial Assessment for Export Readiness.

Additionally, these workshops are intended to complement the ‘Everything Vincy’ Plus Expo 2018 – which will take place October 23 – 28 – by providing Vincentian producers and service providers with the training necessary to getting their businesses export ready.

More information on the upcoming workshops can be obtained by emailing info@investsvg.com, or by calling the office on (784) 457-2159. Additionally, interested persons can check our social media pages on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter or the ‘Everything Vincy’ Expo website (www.everythingvincy.com).
