Bottom Town ‘nice up’ coming – PM

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves has promised that he will build a new city at Arnos Vale, an acute referral hospital in the same area and develop the Rose Place area.

He said that he will accomplish these feats in the same way he managed to build the Argyle International Airport (AIA), now valued approximately EC$1 billion.

Addressing a ceremony at the AIA

on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said that he is currently addressing the construction of the proposed Arnos Vale

city.

“I will build a city in Arnos Vale and I am in the process of addressing the most appropriate magnet there, the acute referral hospital. The contract for the designs have already been signed and [you will] hear about it in 18 months when they bring back the designs, and I am going on the road looking for money for that,” Gonsalves said.

He noted also that he is trying to source US$100 million for the port he wants to construct on the western side of Kingstown.

“I not only building the port, I will nice up what we call Bottom Town, Rose Place, beautiful place full of energy and life.”

He said projects like the AIA are a metaphor for what a determined people, in communion with their leadership can achieve and he has never allowed, negative persons to sway him off course.
