CW Prescod to host second ‘Daddy Day at School’ programme
The CW Prescod Primary School and the CW Prescod Fathers Support Group will host their second âDaddy Day at School: Linking School and Workâ next Monday, February 12 at the school.
Daddy Day at School is part of the Fathers Conference initiative, which the school launched on May 25, 2017, under the theme âBridging the Gap: The Role of Fathers in the Education of their Children.â The first âDaddy Day at School: Linking School and Workâ took place on October 23, 2017.
The programme will run from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and will only feature Grades Two to Five. From 9 a.m., the fathers will have devotions with the children, after which they will share with them in their class rooms about their work and what they do, demonstrating, using tools, and dressed in work uniforms representing the place of work.
During the recess the fathers will share ice cream with their children. From 11 a.m., there will be a seminar on âBeing a Responsible Fatherâ. This will be done by Reverend Adolph Davis, Superintendent of the Kingstown Chateaubelair Circuit of the Methodist Church.
Fathers of children at CWP in Grades Two to Five are asked to make a special effort to attend and be on time. A special session will be convened for the students and fathers of Grade Six during the third term.
