Two rescued after boat sinks between Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent
Two people were airlifted to safety via helicopter after their sailing vessel âTyagoâ, sank between Saint Lucia and St Vincent, Martinique 1ere has reported.
According to the publication, a search for the two began on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at 7 p.m.
Two ships in the area â the French flagged âClub Med 2â and the Liberian registered container vessel âSan Cristobalâ â took part in the search and rescue operation, along with the French Navy frigate âVentoseâ.
The two men, who were hoisted to safety by helicopter, had spent some five hours in the water clinging to a cooler.
They were later treated by medical staff aboard the French Navy vessel. (St Lucia Times)
