‘Everything Vincy’ Expo 2017 registration commences

Registration has begun for the ‘Everything Vincy’ Expo 2017 – which will give local businesses and producers the opportunity to showcase their products and services to the Vincentian public.

The Expo, which will run from October 27 – 29, is a component of the inaugural ‘Everything Vincy’ Independence Festival, which aims to be St Vincent and the Grenadines’ (SVG) newest annual festival (running from October 21 – 29, 2017) – highlighting Vincentian culture, food, enterprise, music and motorsport.

The ‘Everything Vincy’ Expo, which is being spearheaded by Invest SVG, is an initiative focused on increasing the visibility of local products and services, as part of an overarching ‘Buy Local’ campaign.

Additionally, the expo will also have a training element attached to it, with two days (October 24 – 25) of workshops covering topics such as Customer Service, Marketing and Branding, Effective Labelling & Packaging and Social Media Management – among others – which are geared at not only helping businesses develop, but to also better prepare them to reach export markets.

These workshops are free for individuals/businesses who register to participate in the Expo. Those who wish to attend the workshop sessions, but are not registered with the Expo, will incur a cost of EC$50 per day, and can attend any number of workshops being offered.

Acting executive director at Invest SVG Allan Alexander said that he is “excited” about this upcoming event, because it fits perfectly in line with one of the investment agency’s mandates of helping to further export development in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

“Small business development is essential for the overall economic growth of St Vincent and the Grenadines – which doesn’t solely entail foreign investment; it also includes our investment in our people. A great way of achieving that is for all Vincentians to make a more concerted effort to support local,” explained Alexander.

Registration for ‘Everything Vincy’ Expo 2017 opens to the public today, September 1, and closes on Friday, September 29. Early registration runs from September 1 – 8, and will give participants a $50 discount off booth spaces.

Registrants may email info@investsvg.com for an online link to register for the Expo, or can visit the Invest SVG office (2nd Floor, Administrative Office) to fill out a registration form. Additionally, more information can be obtained by calling (784) 457-2159.

The ‘Everything Vincy’ Independence Festival is a collaborative effort between Invest SVG and the Vincy Motorsports Club; in association with the SVG Association of Music Professionals, National Properties Ltd, the Department of Culture and the SVG Motorcycle Club.

Described as having the potential to be an “amazingly unique tourism product”, this Independence Festival presents a jam-packed schedule of events that include motorsport activities (including a street festival), musical performances and a National Colours & Social Media Hashtag Day.

This Independence Festival not only promises to entertain, enlighten and encourage Vincentians, but also aims to build a bigger tourism product for our country.
