Winner of WEFM’s Reading Challenge to be decided today

The finals of WEFM Radio’s fourth Annual Youth Summer Reading Challenge will be held today upstairs WEFM’s studios at Lower Questelles.

Five finalists were trained during the period July 24 to 26 in basic radio broadcast presentation.

The training sought to build more confident readers by exposing them to training in Fluency, Confidence, Voice and Diction. It was also designed to expose teens to careers in the media.

The finalists in the challenge will all compete by reading the news LIVE on air on WEFM 99.9 on Thursday, July 27, 2017.

The best reader, as decided by the judges, will emerge as the overall winner of the challenge.

Prizes to be won include a tablet, compliments Courts SVG Ltd, savings accounts for each of the finalists, compliments SVG Teacher’s Cooperative Credit Union, meal vouchers, school supplies, a trophy and more.
