Evo 4.0 swings off tonight

Tonight, persons wanting to experience the best of the 40 years of Vincy Mas should journey to the Cruise Ship and Ferry Berth for Evo 4.0.

Evo 4.0 is the Carnival Development Corporation’s (CDC) 40th anniversary birthday party. It is designed to treat patrons to both the old and new of Vincy Mas, as it relates to music.

The event is an all-white affair and replaces Miss Carival and will see performances from, among others, Kevin Lyttle, Gamal “Skinny Fabulous” Doyle, Alston “Becket” Cyrus, Delroy “Fireman” Hooper, Rondy “Luta” McIntosh, Pat Ragguette, Jamarie “Lpank” Stapleton and Keith “Grabba Finesse” Charles.

The bands Touch, X-a-dus and Kinetics will also entertain persons who can pay EC$60 to get inside or EC$200 for an all-inclusive VIP experience.

Chair of the CDC Ricky Adams said on Wednesday that Evo 4.0 or Evolution 40 is the “best party that patrons will attend this year.” He said that the event incorporates the best of Vincy Mas.

“If you missed the All Stars Show, come to Evo; if you missed Clash of the Bands, come to Evo; if you missed the launch of Carnival, come to Evo,” stressed Adams.

He added: “It is a combination of the best bands, old school and current and the biggest soca artistes all on one stage at a fantastic venue with great ambiance.”

Sponsors of the event include the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), the St Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority (SVGTA), LIAT, FLOW, Hairoun, VC3, NBC Radio, Star FM and WE FM.

The event begins at 8 p.m.
