Arise and Blossom Women’s Conference tomorrow

The Arise and Blossom Women’s Organization will host the inaugural Arise and Blossom Conference tomorrow, Wednesday, at the Peace Memorial Hall from 5 to 9:30 p.m.

The event is the brainchild of the co-founders of the Arise and Blossom Women’s Organization, Dr Arusha Campbell-Chambers, a Vincentian dermatologist practising in Jamaica, and her mother, Bishop Juliette Campbell, entrepreneur and founder of the Upper Room Ministries. They articulated that the conference is a platform for ladies to be encouraged and empowered to live their best lives.

The theme for the conference is “Empowering Women, Transforming Lives”. On the programme for this event, there will be a dynamic cast of Vincentian women from various backgrounds, specifically the arts, business, the church, governance, health and law. The speakers are Bishop Juliette Campbell, Denise Grant, Réchanne Browne, Dr Arusha Campbell, Dr Jacqueline James-Lyttle and Tamira Browne.

The conference chairperson, Mandella Campbell, noted that the conference can be seen as an investment in the lives of women. She further pointed out that participants will benefit from sessions on their health and well-being, their legal rights as women, leadership roles of women, motherhood in a modern society and transforming their business ideas.

Registration and the viewing of exhibits begin at 5 p.m., with a Welcome Reception at 5:30 p.m. and presentations from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are available for only $25 at the Coreas City Store, Chill’n Restaurant, PR Campbell & Co and the Oasis Spa.

The conference is sponsored in part by BDO Eastern Caribbean, Chill’n Restaurant, Choice Meats, Dermatology Solutions, Envision, the Girl Guides Association, Ignite, Oasis Spa and Wellness Centre, and Searchlight Newspaper.
