New insurance company opens in SVG

Priority Insurance Limited, a locally owned company, is open for business in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

On Thursday, June 15, at the Bungalow in Villa, Priority Insurance Ltd, part of KP Holdings (local operators of Bickles and Western Union), officially launched their operations here.

Speaking during the launch, managing director Priority Insurance Ltd Villette Howard-Browne said the new face of insurance in the country is the local agent for Grace Kennedy (GK) Insurance Limited and has the backing of the Grace Kennedy Financial Group.

“Grace Kennedy is one of our formidable regionally based companies with the strength of a multinational, having bases on every continent in the world, with the exception of Australia, Asia and Antarctica,” Howard-Browne told the gathering at the company launch.

Priority Insurance Ltd offers three products: Comfort Zone, the Angel Advantage Policy and the Global Supreme.

Comfort Zone is a home insurance policy with special features, which, apart from covering the structure, can also cover the contents of the home. The Angel Advantage Policy is specially designed for female drivers, while the Global Supreme is for all drivers.

Priority Insurance Limited is located upstairs Western Union and Bickles on Bay Street.

“The insurance experience of Grace Kennedy spans the globe, with relationships as far as South Africa, giving them a wide experience which makes them proficient in their insurance experience, which we in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) will now be able to tap into and benefit from,” Howard-Browne told potential customers.

She stressed that her team is ready to provide the ultimate in customer service, while the company is backed by the strength of its directors, Franklyn Browne, Albert Porter and herself.

“Together we have a very wide array of experience and expertise that brings a fresh perspective to insurance in St Vincent and the Grenadines. We are not just business people, but most importantly, we have been customers of insurance companies and we have had our own experiences, so now we take those experiences and we want to take customers in St Vincent and the Grenadines to a new level,” said Howard-Browne.

She said that all employees have been trained in insurance to ensure that customers get accurate guidance, which allows them to make proper decisions.

“We did not come into it with guess work; we ensured that all our staff had the opportunity to be formally trained. We at Priority Insurance pride ourselves in our ability to provide customer service that is par excellence, upholding the mantle of our own group,” Howard-Browne boasted.

Other speakers at the launch included chief executive officer (CEO) of Grace Kennedy Financial Group Grace Burnette, regional manager GK Insurance Tammara Glaves Hucey, director at Priority Insurance Albert Porter and Minister of Transport and Works Julian Francis.

Priority Insurance’s first customer, Philmore Francis, was also present at the event.(LC)
