Government to undergo scrutiny by Opposition

When the House of Assembly meets this Thursday, the Government will be required to provide oral answers to a whopping 27 questions to be asked by the Opposition.

The questions range from the status of the geothermal project and VINLEC’s role in it; the status of the Government’s efforts to procure international flights for the Argyle International Airport; and efforts to combat violence against yacht visitors to the status of the spraying programme for the Black Sigatoka fungus, the possible introduction of VAREP – Vincentian Association for Retired and Elderly Persons and the institution of an immediate ban on the playing of loud music in public transportation.

In addition to the questions or oral answer, several bills will have their first reading. They are: The Finance Bill, 2017, The Bank and Insolvency (Amendment) Bill, 2017, Proceeds of Crime (Amendment) Bill, 2017, Occupational Health and Safety Bill, 2017, The Arnos Vale Covenant Assembly Incorporated, The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Incorporated, The Church of Christ at Richland Park Incorporated, The Lighthouse Chapel International Incorporated, The Word of Life Deliverance Ministries Incorporated, The Pillar of Truth Ministries Inc Incorporated.
