SVG close to visa waiver agreement with UAE

Vincentians may soon be able to travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) without a visa.

So said Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, during a press conference last week, in which he highlighted the activities of his recent trip to Abu Dhabi.

“One area in which we have had agreement… is about us having reciprocal visa waiver arrangements that Vincentians can go to the United Arab Emirates and people from the UAE can come here to St Vincent and the Grenadines without visas,” Gonsalves noted.

He said that when establishing these relations, it is useful for the general public and the media to follow and take interest and understand what the UAE is about.

“The more places of real interest to us that we have those arrangements in most countries have serious interest to us….”

Gonsalves also stated that the trip was a successful one, where he advanced the Zero Hunger Project with the Minister of State.

“I advanced the discussion with the Minister of State regarding the Zero Hunger Project, and in particular a project concerning an NGO on education with which she is connected,” the Prime Minister said.

“In relation to the Minister, it’s a work in progress regarding several developmental issues, and I am very hopeful that I will be able to make some announcements on some particular matters,” he added.

Gonsalves noted that we have cultivated friendships and built relations on an ongoing basis so that trust develops.(CM)
