Members of the St Philipâs Anglican Youth Movement (AYM), Mesopotamia, brought Christmas cheer to the children at the St Benedictâs Childrenâs Home in Georgetown on Saturday December 17. The group took snacks and gifts to the home and spent the time singing carols and playing with the children.{{more}}
The AYM is striving to practise the Marks of Mission, according to the Plan of Action for the Anglican Church in the Province of the West Indies. Saturdayâs activity was the mission to respond to human need by loving service. The young people remarked on how loving the children were, and how they made them feel as though they were long-time friends. They also indicated that seeing the joy they brought to the children, gave them a sense of satisfaction, making the visit quite meaningful.
Earlier this year the group conducted morning assembly at the Emmanuel High School, Mesopotamia, using song and drama to demonstrate the mission â âTo proclaim the Good News of Godâs Kingdomâ.
