NASVG feeds 200 less privileged persons

The Nigerian Association of St Vincent and the Grenadines (NASVG), in partnership with St Mary’s Cathedral of Assumption Catholic Church, Kingstown, recently fed 200 less privileged persons.

The activity was held under the theme: “A call to charity” and according to president of the association Folu Ayanleke, was done by the members of the association to give back to their host country, in their own “little way”.{{more}}

“Inasmuch as we are going through financial challenges in this country as a result of recession in our home country Nigeria, we still deemed it necessary to show our own sense of love and appreciation to the good people of SVG. Some were fed at the Catholic Church soup kitchen; prisoners at the Central Police Station and the rest were fed in town.

“The response from people was great and this we are pleased with. We intend doing it again by December; then we will visit the orphanage and persons with disabilities.

“We want to use this medium to thank the good people of SVG and also our landlords for their love, patience and understanding,” Ayanleke said.
