Officers in Georgetown melee yet to face disciplinary committee

The two police officers, whose questionable behaviour was captured by a cellular phone video in Georgetown on Sunday, October 23 at around 5:24 p.m., have not yet faced the disciplinary committee of the constabulary.

The behaviour of the officers, whose conduct was described as “totally unacceptable” by Commissioner of Police (COP) Renold Hadaway was brought to public attention{{more}} when a video recording of the two officers in a melee was posted on social media site Facebook.

Last week during a press briefing at Police Headquarters, Deputy Commissioner of Police Colin John said that the previous week, he had received a written report of the incident and he sent that report to the COP, who was out of state.

“The matter is definitely on the front burner,” assured John.

The video, which went viral when uploaded on SEARCHLIGHT’s Facebook page on Sunday, October 23, was recorded by a civilian who was hanging out in Georgetown with his friends.(LC)
