Ambassador Ellsworth John presents credentials in Cuba

Ellsworth John, Ambassador of St Vincent and the Grenadines to the Republic of Cuba, presented his credentials to Vice-President Salvador Valdés Mesa on Thursday, November 10, becoming the second resident ambassador to that country.

In presenting his credentials, Ambassa­dor John emphasized the close ties of solidarity and cooperation that exist between the two countries and indicated the commitment of the Government to building on that foundation. {{more}}In addition to the current programmes being undertaken between the two countries, Ambassador John and Vice-President Valdés Mesa discussed additional issues related to growth and economic development in the both countries.

The Vice-President was accompanied by the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Ana Teresita Gonzalez Fraga and Ambassador John was accompanied by Charmaine Tappin-John.

Following the ceremony, Ambassador John placed a wreath at the monument to Jose Marti, in the Plaza of the Revolution.

Ambassador John replaces Ambassa­dor Dexter Rose who served for 11 years as this country’s envoy to the Republic of Cuba.
