In a release to the media, Joshua said “Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.

“I am deeply moved by the expression of kindness from so many of you who supported me as we sought to keep the Cobblestone Inn open for business. I have a strong faith and believe that things ultimately work out as they are supposed to. But the sort of kindness that I have experienced during this journey is something that I have never seen before. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your much needed prayers, signatures of support, points of advice, hugs, hellos, reassuring smiles and messages of encouragement.”

Joshua confirmed that her hotel has signed a five-year lease with the proprietors of the building, the National Properties Ltd (NPL).

“I know many might have heard the rumours leading up to this; however, I refrained from making a public statement until the matter was finalized. This success is the result of the tireless efforts of so many. I am deeply grateful to each and every one of you.

“I’d like to thank National Properties for working along with me in ensuring that we remain operational. I’d like to especially thank my family, my attorney Kay Bacchus-Baptiste, and my friends for their unwavering support and guidance. To all the people in media, both traditional and social, I thank you. To all our past and current patrons, Vincentians here and abroad who signed petitions and vocalized their support. I thank you,” the release said.
