After a mere eight years as an established steel orchestra in St Vincent and the Grenadines, the Winfresh South East Steel Orchestra has gained international exposure and is anticipating future opportunities to gain even more international exposure, following its recent successful outing to Vineyard Vincyfest at Featherstone Center for the Arts, Martha’s Vineyard.{{more}}

The steel orchestra, which attended Vineyard Vincyfresh on the invitation of the SVG Consulate in New York, travelled with a contingent of 19 persons, including 16 players, musical director Marla Nanton, band manager Cecil Ryan and parent Jennifer Richardson.

The reception at Martha’s Vineyard was

phenomenal, with numerous requests by members of the audience for the band to play. The band played for extensive periods of time and represented itself and St Vincent and the Grenadines well.

Winfresh South East Steel Orchestra expresses gratitude to its sponsor, Winfresh, the National Lotteries Authority and numerous other business entities that assisted with covering the cost of its recent travels.

Vineyard Vincyfest was held on Saturday, August 27, as a collaborative effort by the SVG Consulate in New York and Martha’s Vineyard.
