CDC has new Board

The Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture, under which the responsibility of the Carnival Development Corporation falls, wishes to advise that Cabinet has confirmed the appointment of the new Board of the Corporation.{{more}}

The board members are: Chair Ricardo Adams; Deputy Chair/Coordi-nator of Rural Carnivals Ellsworth “Ezzie” Roberts; Financial Comptroller David Telesford; Shows Coordinator Anthony Dennie; Beauty Shows Coordinator Laferne Fraser; Marketing Coordinator Donnie Collins; Technical Advisor John Mason; Chief Executive Officer Ashford Wood; Representative of the Youlou Pan Movement; Representative of the Carnival Bands Association; Representative from the SVG Calypso Association; Representative from the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force; Representative from the SVG Tourism Authority and Advisors Hans King, Lennox Bowman and Dennis Ambrose.

The new board will be required to move into high gear immediately with its prime responsibilities being: to finalize the prize-giving for Vincy Mas 2016 and finalize plans for Vincy Mas 2017, which will include the launch of the 40th Anniversary celebrations in November, 2016 and the Schedule of Events for this very special milestone.

According to a release, the Government and Ministry thanks all the members of the outgoing board for their service to the Board and the CDC and make special mention of the outstanding service of former chairpersons Dennis Ambrose and Cheryl Rodriguez, who, between them, have given close to 40 years of unselfish service to the board of the corporation. Their services have been solicited as advisors to guide the new board members and ensure that Vincy Mas remains ‘THE HOTTEST CARNIVAL IN THE CARIBBEAN.’
