AIA gets US$10,000 from Friends of Argyle International Airport USA

Friends of the Argyle International Airport USA (FAIA USA) has made what it says is its final contribution towards the construction of the Argyle International Airport, this as the organization now turns its attention to helping other projects in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

In a ceremonial handing over on Friday, September 2, 2016, US$10,000 was handed over to IADC’s communications officer, Jennifer Richardson, at a small handing over ceremony in New York.{{more}} Speaking during the ceremony, deputy chair of the FAIA USA Alpheus Phillips said they were happy to contribute to the project, as they see it as necessary for the development of SVG.

He said though raising the funds was not always easy, they were happy to do it, knowing that it was for a worthy cause. Noting that this was their final contribution, he highlighted the fact that FAIA USA would have given, prior to this, US$45,000. Admitting that in the whole scheme of things their contribution was a drop in the bucket, he said he was glad they were able to contribute and are now looking forward to the operational phase of the airport.

IADC’s communications officer Jennifer Richardson, in accepting the cheque, thanked the group for its continued support over the years and noted that while the funds are appreciated and very much welcomed, of greater significance was the support received from the group over the years.

IADC wishes the group the very best in their future endeavours.
