Teenager taken from popular beach, raped
Police are investigating an incident in which a 17-year-old female was taken from the Indian Bay beach and raped at gunpoint.
According to reports, on Tuesday, August 23, at about 11 p.m., the young woman was at the beach with her 25-year-old boyfriend, when they were attacked and beaten by a gun-wielding assailant.{{more}}
The attacker then reportedly drove the female from the beach to an undisclosed location in her boyfriendâs vehicle.
Superintendent Jackson at the Calliaqua Police Station confirmed to SEARCHLIGHT that the incident did take place and that a gun or something similar to a gun was used in the execution of the crime.
He said the matter was reported to the police on Wednesday and investigations are being carried out. Up to press time no one had been taken into custody for questioning. (CM)
