Lazarus Foundation celebrates Simon Bolivar Day

July 24, 1783, was the birthday of the liberator Simon Bolivar. As part of the commemoration of his 233rd birthday, which was held on Monday, July 25, the Lazaras Foundation was invited to a special function at the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The activity included a Flag Raising and Wreath Laying Ceremony for the children who attend the Foundation’s Annual Vacation Programme. Following that the children were invited to view a short film, on the life of Simon Bolivar which was wonderfully done in a cartoon form.{{more}} They were also given a power point presentation on Venezuela, which was very informative and was presented in a very simple way to enhance learning. They also had the opportunity to view various traditional musical instruments of Venezuela. The Ambassador His Excellency Yuri Pimental also made a presentation of a cheque to Nataki Benn, one of the directors of the Lazaras Foundation which is a financial contribution to the vacation programme to cover costs of transportation.

The Lazaras Foundation will like to publicly congratulate the Government, the People and the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, on the historic commemoration of the birthday of the liberator Simon Bolivar. We would also like to thank the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in St Vincent and the Grenadines for the support to the annual vacation programme.
