Cobblestone Inn operator ordered to hand over property

Operator of The Cobblestone Inn, Ann Joshua, has been given up until September 30 to hand over the premises to National Properties Limited (NPL), the owners of the Bay Street based restaurant and hotel.

Joshua, who has been operating the hotel for the last 30 years, was served with a ‘Notice To Quit’ on July 12, 2016 by lawyer Grahame Bollers, solicitor for NPL.{{more}}

The property, said to attract a monthly rent of EC$24,000, has over the years become a landmark in St Vincent and the Grendines. When contacted on Thursday, Joshua said that she did not wish to comment, but did offer that she would be consulting her lawyer on the issue.

She said that she does not owe rent and that no reason was given for the non-renewal of her five-year lease.

Chair of NPL Hendrick Alexander said on Thursday that a response would be given as it relates to the issue, but up to press time, none had been received by SEARCHLIGHT. (LC)
