GHS students in England on educational tour

Twenty-four excited fourth formers of the Girls’ High School (GHS), accompanied by five adults (teachers and parents), left the state for a three-week tour of England last Sunday, July 3.

This tour marks the 10th anniversary of GHS Social Sciences educational tours, which, over the years, have seen fourth formers visiting Venezuela, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba (twice), Antigua and Barbuda, St Kitts and Nevis and Jamaica.{{more}}

This year’s three-week tour of England would take the girls to London, Stratford-upon-Avon, Birmingham, Coventry and Oxford, where they would visit renowned cultural, historical and literary sites.

From July 15 to 24, the students and teachers would be hosted by Vincentians in England (former staff members of the GHS), with quite a number of the girls being the guests of Vincentian families in Reading, spearheaded by Roslyn Tucker-Exeter, a former head girl of the GHS. The tour group returns to the state on Monday, July 25.
