In 1992, Codougan returned to St Vincent from Trinidad and Tobago where she had lived for several years.

In that same year, she won the Queen of Calypso crown with her song ‘Career Guidance’.

After falling ill in 2006, the Sion Hill resident retired from the calypso arena and started a life writing and singing gospel music.

It was during this time that Codougan began participating in the Gospel Fest activities where she, in 2008, was awarded for having the most outstanding original song ‘Holy Father’.

That year, she received a gold medal for her participation in the over 19 categories of the festival.

Codougan was a member of the Faith Temple church at New Montrose and was sister to the late legendary mas man Roy Ralph.

Over the years she battled several ailments, including heart and liver problems and blood clots in her legs.

She is survived by two children.(CM)
