Woodley, who is a student at the Girls’ High School, competed against four other contestants and won the swimwear and interview categories.

She also won the most photogenic award.

Woodley told SEARCHLIGHT that she worked hard leading up to the show and was elated at the results.

“Well, I was very elated because I worked hard. What you put in is what you get out,” said the Cemetery Hill resident.

She also gave credit to her sponsor, Bequia Express Company, her mother Tressa Woodley, her team who helped her to prepare for the show and all of her supporters.

The first runner-up position was taken by Wenesha Ollivierre, who also won best evening wear, while Ashanda McKree took the second runner-up position, along with best talent.

Compared to previous years, this year’s pageant saw more contestants who are residents of Bequia.

The festivities continued yesterday with J’Ouvert in the morning and a jump up in the afternoon.(CA)
