‘Tiny’ calling on authorities to stop neighbours from harassing her
Robertha Samuel is making yet another plea to persons in her community to allow her to live in peace.
âI want peace,â was the constant plea of Samuel, who is popularly known as âTiny,â when she spoke to SEARCHLIGHT last Friday.
Samuel said on May 1, she was at her home in Green Hill when she heard a loud noise at her window.{{more}}
âI was on my bed listening to calpyso, when I hear âbamâ on the window!â
Samuel said when she looked out, she saw a barebacked man, whom she recognized as a resident of her neighbourhood.
âI bawl âmurder, advantage,â because [he] break me window,â she continued.
According to Samuel, the man then said to her, âyou like bawl for murder, you will bawl again.â
The elderly lady said she contacted the police station that night, but they didnât show up, so the next day, she went to the Prime Ministerâs Office to make a report. However, when she got there, she was directed to Police Headquarters.
She said the police came to her house and collected the stone which she said was used to break the window.
After the report was made to the police, Samuel alleged that the man who broke the window threatened to kill her. She claims that he and his partner told the police that they were using the stone to hit a breadfruit on a nearby tree.
The visibly upset woman also revealed that she has had previous altercations with the couple, as well as another relative of theirs.
The 70-year-old woman is asking for them to leave her in peace.
âI canât get no rest with them. I want to get peace with them. I want peace,â she said, shakily.
Samuel, who lives alone, said that she has trouble sleeping at night since her window was broken.
âI canât get peace. Is me alone live and I canât sleep at night since the window break.â
Samuel would like the police to either warn her neighbours to stop harassing her, or for them to be arrested.(CA)
