More Ecuadorean teachers graduate from seven-month English programme

Forty-four Ecuadorean teachers will graduate from their seven-month programme (Teach English Caribbean) at the Villa campus of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College today.

This programme commenced on November 9, 2015 and was designed to improve the competency of these Ecuadorean English teachers. The first three months focused on English as a second Language (ESL).{{more}} The next three months focused on Teaching of English as a Second Language (TOESL). The final month saw the students pursuing a teaching practicum attachment in Vincentian schools. Other Ecuadorean teachers were simultaneously attending classes at the Dominica State College and UWI, Cave Hill campus.

Today, June 7, there will be a Graduation Ceremony to mark the completion of this cohort of the Teach English Programme in SVG in Lecture Theatre 2 at the Villa campus of the Community College.

Deborah Charles, parliamentary secretary in the Ministry of Education, National Reconciliation and Ecclesiastical Affairs, will deliver remarks on behalf of the Ministry, while Saboto Caesar, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Rural Transformation, will deliver the feature address.
