UWI Open Campus commences lecture series next week

The University of the West Indies Open Campus will commence its lecture series, “Issues in International Affairs,” on Thursday, June 9 from 7 p.m. at the UWI lecture hall.

Dr Marlene Attzs, lecturer in Economics at The University of the West Indies (UWI), St Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago, will deliver the lecture on the topic ‘Energy Security and Development in Caribbean Island States’.{{more}}

Dr Attzs has served as head of the Economics Department and also as deputy dean in the Faculty of Social Sciences at St Augustine. She has over 15 years’ experience as an economist, focusing on areas of sustainable development and resource and environmental economics.

Additionally, Dr Attzs has worked internationally with the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) in Washington and consulted for international agencies such as the Department for International Development (DFID) and the UN/ECLAC, as well the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the Caribbean Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA).

The Open Campus extends a cordial invitation to the public to attend the lecture.
