Relatives say deceased wasn’t a troublesome man
Malcolm Pollin, Jocelyn Pollin and Oganda Joseph, all agree that Sheldon âBillyâ Pollin was not a troublesome person and did not deserve to die the way he did, riddled with bullets.
Billy, as he was affectionately known, was gunned down on Wednesday night while standing in a shop in Diamond which he operated with his girlfriend.{{more}}
Reports are that at least four gun men opened fire on Billy, killing him on the spot, also shooting his cousin Richard âRichieâ Barnwell three times. Barnwell survived.
Speaking to the SEARCHLIGHT on Thursday, Billyâs brother Malcolm described the dead man as, âa good soldierâ who never interfered with people.
âHe always work for his money but these guys who did this thing here, this whole crew is from Rilland. They shoot me son four or five days before they kill me brother and now they come and kill my brother innocent,â said Malcolm who added, âThis whole incident is so much of a big shock, I donât even know what to say. My body feeling too much of vibes. I donât even know what to do, what to think, what to say. Four men just run in on the man and kill him and he just come from bush, me nah know for what.â
Malcolm stressed that from his knowledge, his brother, âwasnât in no war with nobody else he would have tell me, he use to tell me anything.â
Jocelyn described her dead brother the same way Malcolm did, âis my brother, same mother, same father, he was a loving person to me and just the other day I was thinking about him and saying I ainât see him for a while.â
The angry woman said that her brother was killed innocently and the death came as a shock to the family.
âI donât believe that my brother gone like that because he wasnât a troublesome person. He was always peace making and if he cook he would share food for everybody. He would give anybody anything he get, nothing wasnât too good for him to give.â
Jocelyn said that she has no idea who killed her brother and God will have the final say.
âMay his soul rest in peace. Condolences to his fiancé and his children,â said Jocelyn on Thursday.
Sheldonâs niece Oganda commented, I feel real hurt because Billy was my uncle and he was very loving to me and the way that they did him I donât think that is right.
I would like to see justice be served because what they did was very wrong. They have to know that they have children or cousin or family what they did to him was very wrong. My uncle was cool he was a good uncle to me.â
Pollinâs murder is the 12th for the year in St Vincent and the Grenadines. (LC)
