Miss SVG contestants

ANYA FREDERICK – sponsored by St Vincent Electricity Services Ltd

Born on Spetember 16, 1995, Anya is sister to four siblings and lives in the community of Queen’s Drive. She is currently employed as a customer service clerk at VINLEC, and aspires to be an actuary.

Anya currently leads the #28 Girl Guide Company, and is actively involved in the Girl Guide Association. {{more}}To date, she has completed over 300 hours of community service, and aspires to sit on the board of the Western Hemisphere Region and the International Board of Guiding.

In 2011, Anya entered and was ultimately crowned winner in the Scotia Bank National Secondary Schools Miss Heritage Pageant.

DAHVANA PROVIDENCE – sponsored by Metrocint General Insurance Company Ltd

The daughter of Don and Judith Providence, New Montrose resident Dahvana was born on September 15, 1994, and is one of five siblings.

She attended the CW Prescod Primary School and the Dr JP Eustace Secondary School – where she was awarded Best Clothing and Textile Student.

Dahvana has won awards in several local competitions for her fashion designs; and with a passion for designing, sewing and modelling, she is hoping to become one of SVG’s leading designers.

In 2015, she placed first runner-up in the Miss Unity Youth pageant; and she is currently a member of Focus Entertainment Talent Agency.

JEANETTA RICHARDS – sponsored by Coreas Distributors

Jeanetta is the daughter of Debra Richards-Charles and Jerry Charles, and was born on June 10, 1993. Currently she lives in Golden Vale.

She began her education at the Calliaqua Anglican School, then went on to attend the Girls’ High School, where she achieved seven CSEC passes. In 2012, Jeanetta applied and was accepted into the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, Division of Nursing Education, where she is currently completing her final year.

Jeanetta aspires to be a nurse anesthetist because it is a highly respected field of nursing that is in high demand.

She enjoys reading, singing, dancing and is an active member of the Winfresh SouthEast Steel Orchestra. A lover of pageants, Jeanetta captured the title of Miss East St George in 2012, taking three of the four judged categories.

NIKIANNA WILLIAMS – sponsored by Flow

Nikianna was born on February 25, 1994, to Roxanne Williams and Timothy Simmons, and is a resident of Lowmans Leeward, although she originally hails from the rural village of Diamonds.

She attended the Diamonds Government School and the St Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua, where she discovered her love for Caribbean history, and graduated with nine CSEC passes. She went on to pursue studies in History, Sociology and Communication Studies at the SVG Community College. In 2013, Nikianna enrolled at the Division of Teacher Education, and now aspires to become a child psychologist.

She holds a great sense of admiration for her mother – a single mother of six – and credits her mother’s resilience and hard work for shaping her into the young woman she is today.

Nikianna’s interests lie in dancing, poetry and short story writing, hairstyling and dramatizing.

RANEASHA LORAINE – sponsored by Play 4

A resident of Georgetown, Raneasha was born on November 7, 1993, to Sylvern Loraine and Raymond Punnett, and is one of seven siblings.

She successfully graduated from the Georgetown Secondary School and the SVG Community College’s Division of Technical and Vocational Education, where she gained an Applied Associate Degree in Hospitality Studies. Raneasha intends to pursue further studies in Hospitality Management, and hopes to become a hotel manager.

She was an active member of the RBTT Schools’ Young Leaders programme and the Environmental Club in secondary school. At leisure, her interests are dancing, modelling and volleyball.

A lover of pageantry, Raneasha placed first runner-up in the Miss Georgetown Festival pageant in 2009, was crowned Miss North Windward in 2011 and first runner-up in the Miss Rural SVG pageant in 2012.

SHANIQUE ALEXANDER – sponsored by Bank of SVG Ltd

Born to Monique Alexander on November 12, 1994, Shanique is currently a resident of Fountain, but original hails from Sans Souci.

Shanique’s determination to strive for excellence and to be a well-rounded individual have led to a number of achievements of which she is proud. These include graduating from the Girls’ High School as Most Outstanding Student in Accounting and Integrated Science, and receiving a National Award for obtaining 11 CSEC passes.

In terms of a career, she aspires to become a certified chartered accountant.

As a Girl Guide, Shanique recalls having fun filled, life changing moments, memories which live deep within her. She also enjoys dancing with the La Gracia Dance Company, going to the beach, and socializing with friends. She is a lover of adventure and enjoys new and exciting experiences.

VAKEESHA JOHN – sponsored by Agricultural Input Warehouse

Twenty-one-year-old Vakeesha was born and bred in Layou, and is a “proud” past student of the Girls’ High School.

She graduated from her alma mater (as a recipient of the Basil Charles Educational Foundation) with 11 CSEC subjects, then went on to study Law, Literature in English, Psychology and Communication Studies at the SVG Community College.

Currently, she is an English teacher at the Central Leeward Secondary School. With an appetite for literature, she hopes to merge her love for language and her ability to serve the youths by furthering her studies in Linguistics and Language Education.

Vakeesha is the press secretary of the non-profit community group – the Becket Benefit Organization. She enjoys debating, giving advice to others and listening to music. Her favourite artiste is ‘Lucky Dube’.

ZENNA LEWIS – sponsored by Lotto

Hailing from the fishing/whaling community of Barrouallie, Zenna was born on September 15, 1995, to Leonie Lewis.

She attended the Barrouallie Government School, pursued her secondary education at the Girls’ High School and also attended the SVG Community College. With the aspiration of becoming a successful entrepreneur, Zenna intends to embark on a Bachelor’s degree in Management, so that she can fulfil her goal of starting a make-up and skincare product line.

Zenna attributes her upbringing to her mother (a devout Christian), whom she describes as her role model and source of motivation.

Currently, she is employed at the Buccament Bay Resort, where she has been learning the basics of customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
