Kev shakes off negativity, reinvents himself as a brand

Singer Kevon ‘Kev’ Alleyne who was back in February ridiculed by hundreds of persons who did not believe his kidnapping story, has shaken off the negative publicity and is 100 per cent ready for Vincy Mas 2016.

The ‘Small Thing’ singer, who told police that he was kidnapped at gunpoint by men in a car, but later escaped, issued a press release on Wednesday through social media manager and freelance journalist Sulani Roberts.{{more}}

“What has been said is said and what has been done is done, but none of it is of any consequence to Kevon Jones Alleyne. However, he is guilty. Guilty of making bad decisions in the past, decisions that tested and broke friendships and relationships and put him at the mercy of personal demons and public opinion”, said the release which was sent by email.

Roberts said in the release that a month ago, Kev found himself at a crossroad in his life, with the option to evaporate and disappear or the opportunity to take charge of his own path and he chose the latter.

“Moving forward with reinvigorated energy, Kev have formulated new plans and new ideas for himself, and has been executing them with the enthusiasm of someone who have confronted their fears and accepted the challenge to own their future. Kev is currently undergoing a reinvention of himself as a brand and an independent entity. With his business already registered and logo finalized, Kev is now, just awaiting a meeting with the bank, to establish his business account”, said Roberts in the release.

Roberts stressed that this year, Kev’s catalogue of music for Vincy Mas has far exceeded anything he has done in the past, “both vocally and lyrically, satisfyingly exceeding even his own expectations”.

Tracks for the artiste this year include “Throwback Thursday” (#TBT), “Overcome,” “The Greatest,” and “Major Key.” He has also done a collaboration with Island Network Inc artiste, Hance John.

“Kev has managed to craft a different and better sound, a more authentic sound – the true expression of the embodiment of Kev.

“Finally confident and comfortable on his own two feet, Kev is motivated to spread this very same vigor across all aspects of his life, in fatherhood, his love life and family,” the release stated.

It was noted that as a young father, Kev is still struggling to come to terms with the reality of having a child. It was revealed that he is separated from his son’s mother and still unsure of his role and hopes over time, to nurture better relationships with his son and his son’s mother.

“He is also doubling his efforts in being a better son to his sick mother and reciprocating the love and support he receives from his dedicated girlfriend, Sam, who has been incredibly supportive of his business and personal decisions and has contributed to his overall new direction”.

Kev’s song, “Throwback Thursday” or “#TBT” was released yesterday, Thursday, April 14th.
