Vehicle diagnostic centre opens

Young Owren T Mayers marked another milestone in his career over the weekend, when the doors of Auto Diagnostic Clinic (ADC) officially opened to the public.

In a small and intimate ceremony on Saturday, March 5, Mayers stood proudly as his sister, ADC general manager Cherish Mayers, cut the ribbon to welcome family, friends and well-wishers to the state-of-the-art auto mechanic facility, located on the OT {{more}}compound at the Diamond Estate.

Mayers, who was trained at the Universal Technical Institute in Orlando, Florida, is certified and qualified to “diagnose and offer treatment” to all types of vehicles, especially high end automobiles, the likes of BMW, Ford, Audi, Mercedes Benz, Land Rover, and Lexus.

He will be ably and competently assisted, by Omri T Mayers – Class B technician, and Omari Mayers – Class C technician, in providing top quality service which customers have come to expect from ADC.

At last Saturday’s opening ceremony, head of the Mayers Family Olmroy “OT” Mayers, in typical OT style, imparted humour and wisdom to those who came out to show their support to Owren and the new venture.

OT related that after his son had finished his studies, he encouraged the lad to returned to St Vincent, to “shine his light in his small corner” of the world.

He added that young OT Mayers and the ADC were not there to compete with other garages and auto mechanics, but rather to complement them, since St Vincent and the Grenadines is too small a place for competition.

“He is a ‘doctor’; he will diagnose at his clinic and you are free to take your vehicle anywhere you choose for treatment,” OT noted.

Owren’s mother Cynthia Sutherland thanked the persons who helped and stood by her son during his studies and in his quest to bring a fresh concept to St Vincent and the Grenadines in the form of the high tech garage.

She cautioned him to be honest and courteous in his dealings with customers, to strive to maintain a high level of excellence and of course, to pay his tithes.

Young Mayers was also congratulated and encouraged by one of his mentors, Dennis Joyette, as well as Dave Charles and Pastor George Frederick, who, in giving the homily, encouraged Owren to keep God at the centre of his life and business.

Auto Diagnostic Clinic is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.
