Evesham Methodist World Food Day celebrations

Internationally, people have been suffering greatly, due to poor nutrition and inadequate food supply. Accordingly, the students, staff and principal of the Evesham Methodist School came together to celebrate “World Food Day”, based on the theme ‘Social, Protection and Agriculture: Breaking the Cycle of (Rural) Poverty’.{{more}} This was seen as a day which should be appreciated and promoted in order to reduce the socio-economic risks and vulnerability that extreme poverty can have on families throughout our country of St Vincent and the Grenadines and the global community.

In addition, the school and the community worked collaboratively in preparing various dishes incorporating the food groups to showcase the importance of agriculture in a country’s fight to reduce poverty and enhance healthy eating. The children enjoyed the scrumptious dishes prepared by parents for their lunch.
