Venezuelan President postpones visit to SVG
Although scheduled to visit the state last Tuesday, President of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro Moros postponed his trip at the last minute, causing many to speculate on the reason why.{{more}}
A release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs notified members of the media of the change in plans the same morning that Maduro was expected to have arrived.
However, no explanation has yet been issued.
The night before the expected arrival of the Venezuelan president, a delegation of Venezuelan officials arrived at the ET Joshua Airport in an ALBA-branded private aircraft; they left on Tuesday afternoon.
Maduroâs one-day visit was scheduled to have included a visit to the site of the Argyle International Airport, a media conference, a luncheon at the official residence of the Prime Minister, and bilateral talks on âmatters of mutual interestâ with Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves. (JSV)
