Applications open for 2015-2016 DAP round
A small grants programme funded by the Australian Government is inviting applications for the 2015-2016 Direct Aid Programme (DAP) round.{{more}}
The programme, which is administered by the Australian High Commission in Port of Spain, was developed to assist NGOs/Civil Society, community-based groups, local government and other groups access funding for the implementation of small scale sustainable development projects.
âWe are focused on supporting developing countriesâ economic development, alleviating poverty, gender related issues, disability inclusion, as well as rural development,â a release said.
For this yearâs DAP cycle, the areas of focus are: public health and non-communicable diseases; agriculture and food security; coral reef, climate change and fisheries initiatives; water and sanitation
Last year, the following projects were funded in St Vincent and the Grenadines: Guardians â Barrouaille Sustainability and Beautification Project; Marion House â Building Youth Capacities to Overcome Poverty; National Parks Rivers and Beaches â Coastal Assessment, Water Quality Monitoring and Environmental Awareness/Education & Training Project; Vinsave â Drop in Early Stimulation and Training Centre Programme; St Vincent and The Grenadines Lions Club, under the stewardship of Healthy Caribbean Coalition â Blood Pressure Control Through Community Action.
