Educators receive training in Alternative Dispute Resolution
The ADR initiative complements others like the Child Friendly and Effective Schools initiatives, which are being implemented by the Ministry of Education, in conjunction with partnering agencies and organizations. The Pan Against Crime initiative by the Ministry of National Security and the Juvenile Justice Reform Programme, which is being implemented by the Ministry of National Mobilization, in collaboration with USAID, are also important elements in the combat against crime and violence among our youth.
Education officers, school managers, guidance counsellors and classroom teachers are among the participants who
were trained. The educators were exposed to information on Restorative Practices and Restorative Justice, useful in building safe schools and protective environments in which students can thrive, not just academically, but socially also.
The training in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) began on Monday and ended yesterday.
